Welcome
to the Kentucky Center for School Safety Website |
|
Every morning
as the big yellow bus rounds the corner, parents
send their children off to school with the
expectation that they will remain safe. Across this
great Commonwealth, we as educators never need to
lose sight of that great responsibility.
Our schools
focus on academic achievement, competing well in
athletics and other important measurements of
success, but none of that matters unless our
students remain safe in a healthy environment that
is conducive to learning.
The Kentucky Center for School Safety staff
is committed to providing training, resources,
information and research. In today's society, school
safety is a daily issue that ranges from classroom
management to school shootings. This website is
available for
planning,
training or
emergency
assistance.

It's that time again,
"Back to School." The Kentucky Center for
School Safety would like to wish all Kentucky
Schools a safe and successful school year. |

Conference!

Printable Session Descriptions
How a school’s
culture and climate affect student
achievement is often overlooked. It is hard
for students to learn when they are scared.
Whether they work in rural or urban schools,
all staff and leadership must pay close
attention to the formal and informal signs
that will largely determine the quality of
education and the degree of safety for
students and staff.
